Intravesical Migration of an Intrauterine Contraceptive Device Complicated by Stones - A Case Report
Abstract
Intravesical migration of intrauterine devices is extremely rare. Few cases only have been reported in the literature. This migration may cause many complications, including vesical stone. Device migration may be secondary to a vesicovaginal fistula, uterine perforation, or a trans-urethral insertion of the IUD. The case report is one of a 52year-old woman with lower urinary tract symptoms that occurred 25 years after the insertion of the IUD, which has been complicated with a vesical stone. The constitution of the lithiasis has been, though, the main consequence of this foreign body.
